  1. Seth H.

Pros: relatively small for a 2200VA UPS, expandable (with optional battery pack), switchable plugs through serial or USB connected dedicated host. Cons: control software can be buggy. Overall Review: I have owned three of these UPS’s and have had them running 24/7 for the past 3 years without so much as a hiccup.

  2. Anonymous

Pros: Excellent uptime characteristics. Has a nice LCD display that automatically scrolls through information. Has the ability to add their “SNMPWEBCARD” for network based shutdown and browser/java access to the unit. Cons: Packaging is poor, given weight of unit. Bottom “plate” was very mildly bent. (Removing one egg for manufacturer’s packaging)
Purchased with requirement to use the SNMPWEBCARD. SNMPWEBCARD implementation is poor at best. Overall Review: Will be looking to purchase the single battery pack add-on for increased runtime. Will see how well this performs over time.

  3. STEPHEN P.

Pros: The LCD shows a ton of information, Voltage, Total Watts in Use, MAX estimated UPS time, Battery info, etc. This is much more compact than the slightly lower rated Dell unit we also have. The Dell unit has MASSIVE amounts of empty air space surrounding the battery chamber (not for air flow purposes, just bad design. Be sure you have a 120V 30A locking plug! Cons: Slightly more price than I was hoping, but close enough, I would like to see $699, the batteries don’t really cost that much. Would have given 5 eggs if the price were $100 lower. Overall Review: A very good UPS for a reasonable cost and very compact.

  4. Thomas L.

Pros: Rack mountable (4 post). There is a 2 post kit available. Best / most useful display of the Tripplite UPS’s I’ve used. Resonable size and weight for its rating. Cons: Documentation is poor. I.E. there is a USB and COM monitoring ports each, but not clear whether you can use both or just one at a time. Software is horrible – confusing UI, and I’ve yet been able to make it work on the network as cited (I downloaded the latest version from the TrippLite website). Don’t try to learn it while powering a critical server, there are times when it isn’t clear it’s going to shutdown the O/S and UPS. Overall Review: I’ve been buying TrippLite UPSs for a while now, after getting fed up with another very popular vendor. After a growing pile of failed units (not just the batteries), enough is enough. I’ve had various TrippLite UPSs for years, and not one has been delegated to the to-be-recycled pile so far.

  5. Wade P.

Pros: Haven’t connected it yet, see Other Comments.
Large capacity. Cons: Don’t know. Overall Review: CAUTION: Unit requires a 30 Amp circuit and twist lock receptacle. They tell you this with the technical name for the plug, but if you don’t know the jargon, you won’t find out until you open the box!

  6. T. Ruff

Overall Review: Very easy install which included the Ethernet expansion card. Set the IP reservation and obtained the address assigned. Helps with management of this device.

  7. UncleSammy

Overall Review: Inexpensive unit that does the job, software needs update. The product works as intended. Really would be better with network interface. The software is not highly intuitive. A more network administrative friendly software suite would be appreciated

  8. Jason S

Overall Review: We installed this product in our production environment, inside a rack above the production floor. The product will protect a production network switch.
