1 review for Supermicro MBD-X13SCL-IF-O Intel LGA-1700 Single Socket Mini-ITX Server Motherboard

  1. Ryland P.

Pros: Tons of features peculiar to server boards but in a SFF
Good price, all things considered Cons: Would be nice to have an option for onboard 10 GbE Overall Review: Installed this board in a Jobsbo N2 case for a NAS/Plex/etc. server. I may move it to a Jonsbo N3 for better cooling. Have not yet installed Unraid, as I’m having issues getting 4/5 of my SATA drives recognized after connecting them to one of the SlimSAS ports. (5th drive connected directly to one of the two SATA ports is recognized however.) So far, though, I’ve been impressed by all the stuff Supermicro managed to cram into this motherboard. Proper server features like a dedicated Ethernet port for IPMI (in addition to the two onboard Gigabit ports) and support for ECC memory is hard to find in this form factor. ASRock is the only other company that seems to be producing SFF server boards. I actually bought one of those first (ASRock EC266D2I-2T/AQC) but it was DOA and I got this Supermicro board because the RMA process with ASRock was taking too long. I’ll post back with an update once this thing is up and running.
