Pros: -Probably the only matx motherboard supporting Intel Scalable processors
-It works, sort of Cons: -The motherboard had a sticky disgusting residue all over
-Updating the BIOS is a fairly intricate and complicated process. Other motherboards allow you to do it with one click.
-The SATA ports are blocking the second PCIe slot, so you cannot install a second GPU. The second PCIe slot (which is why I bought this motherboard) is basically useless.
-If you use non-supermicro fans (I used noctua), the motherboard will go crazy. It keeps revving all fans between 100% and 0% speed EVERY SECOND, driving you insane. At other times, it runs the fans at 100% constantly. There is no way to control the fans from the BIOS or an interface. ALL other companies allow tuning the fan settings in the BIOS. Supermicro does not. In 2018, this is frankly pathetic.
-What is even more shocking, is that I called Supermicro support. I was told this is a known issue (which they are not interested in fixing for the past decade) and to just use Supermicro fans. I responded that I cannot throw away $150 worth of noctua fans. They said that if I wish to use third party fans, I can use an IPMI tool to try to reset some settings, but it may not work, and refused to say where to get the tool, or how to use it. They told me ‘they can’t say’ and to ‘just google it’. I asked if the IPMI tool on their website is the one to use. They said that ‘they cannot say’, and that ‘they will hang up’. Then THEY HANGED UP. I have never encountered such rude, abysmal behavior from any company’s ‘support’. Overall Review: There is a reason why the motherboard’s return policy is ‘replacement only’ and you cannot return it for a refund. I would have certainly returned it if I could. Do not make the same mistake as me, I suggest you go with any other manufacturer.

Pros: Has a x4 m2 slot. Hasn’t developed any weird bugs after nearly a year of use. Cons: Server boards can have steep learning curves. A little pricey. Overall Review: Finest quality server board for the money.
