Pros: I was concerned when I unpacked it and it said “minimum system requirements were I5, I7, Phenom…”, when I only had an E8400 on an Asus P5N-D motherboard. But my fears were unfounded. It installed well (I used the driver from the Solidworks site). My only glitch was forgetting to recheck “extend my windows desktop onto this monitor” for monitor 2. Until I did that, I could not get the second monitor to work. My 3dMark06 score went from 4917 with a N220GT, to 11671 with this Quadro 2000D. Have a 550W power supply, and there do not seem to be any issues. Cons: Have not noticed any yet. Overall Review: I am using this for engineering software packages. Needed something to bump up my older workstation processing speed while I wait for the new Sandy Bridge enthusiast chips to come out in the fall. I was severely limited by my installed power supply, and this was the beefiest graphics card I could upgrade to without some serious re-building! The quadro 4000 needs 12 v at 39 Amps, which would have smoked my existing power supply, for instance.

Pros: I use the Quadro 2000D in builds for customers workstations based off a Intel DP67BGB3 motherboards. This card works great for most CAD/CAM software out there. I always install the latest Nvidi drivers. The card does not require a lot of power like older midrange workstations cards did. With the Intel DP67BGB3 motherbaord with an i7 2600 processor along with 16GB of Mushkin Blackline 1600 1.35v low voltage memory and a Western Digital Black SATA3 hard drive a good quality 350Watt power supply has plenty of power to run the system. This of course assumes no over clocking which would require more power. Cons: Not cheap – but you get what you pay for.

Pros: First off I like that this card is very small, quiet and stays cool even during intense simulations.
I use Maya 2012 and Photoshop to create 3D artwork. After testing out basic functions I moved on to simulating cloth and particle effects and was pleasantly surprised. The card could handle a large amount of particles or a high poly piece of cloth. I also loaded up a heavily detailed character animation and even with the character smoothed and moving, I didn’t experience a drop in frame rate. Also viewport 2.0 works nicely.
I was also happy to know that all of my games still worked after I made the switch from a gaming card. I managed to run Team Fortress 2, Portal 2 and Starcraft 2 all at maximum settings without a large drop in frames. Cons: Nothing major. I did experience some slow downs after running Maya for a long time but that might just be Maya’s fault. Overall Review: For the price this card is perfect for any 3D artist who also likes to play games. There are better cards out there but if you’re a freelance artist like me this will get everything done at a reasonable cost.

Pros: This card drives my 2 x 24″ DVI monitors via I/OGEAR GCS1644 KVM Switch. I use my system for Multimedia editing. Occasionaly play Battefield 2 Vietnam [Redux]. The card is short and has a small footprint, it occupies 1 PCIe slot. Quality is solid. Cons: Price.
