Pros: Cool, quiet and energy efficient and still handles parallel processing like a champ. Cons: I purchased this card to replace a GeForce 9800 our backup video workstation. When I first installed it, Sony Vegas 12 would lock up every time I attempted to render.
After much research and testing, I discovered that if I set the Dynamic Ram to 0 (zero) in Sony Vegas, the card would work fine.
Pretty sure it’s a driver issue and not an issue with Sony Vegas as all of my older NVIDIA cards ran fine. I also have the same problem on my machine with the Quadro K4000.
I would have rated 4 stars but when I pay pro prices, I expect the card to work with pro editors. Overall Review: I also purchased the K4000 for our primary workstation and had the chance to test both cards in both a new 1155 socket 6-core i7 machine and a very early i7 4-core machine. Other than the driver issues mentioned above, the K2000 performed nearly as well as the K4000 in the older machine making it a better value for a slower machine with other “bottlenecks” – for a faster machine, the K4000 shows a greater performance increase.
Test results: (short 1080p test clip with lots of FX, 4 tracks and numerous transitions)
2.6MHZ i7 4-core machine:
GeForce 9800: 12:06
Quadro K2000: 10:03
Quadro K4000: 9:44
3.5MHZ (oc to 4.6) i7 6-core machine:
Quadro K2000: 8:38
Quadro K4000: 7:47

Pros: It runs 3dsMax and even a high rez online PC games without any problems. I’m using one 2560×1440 monitor. The performance of this video card will be more noticeable when I eventually render video, etc. Cons: None that I know of. Overall Review: It’s such a small card and is dwarfed in my full case.

Pros: Runs Solidworks well. Cons: Inflated professional card prices. Overall Review: Recently purchased Solidworks. Tried an nVidia 560GTX 2GB and a 760GTX 2GB with it. Both cards worked with the software but had lag time on some operations. Installed the Quadro and it’s a night and day difference. Solidworks runs much faster and looks better. I will save money in the long run using this professional card vs the gaming cards I initially tried.
Same chip architecture, optimized drivers from my understanding…

Pros: Bought it to run three monitors on a Dell Studio XPS 8100 for a radiologist. He’s reads x-rays and MRIs on a remote server. Card works exactly as intended. Quality is excellent, except for the DisplayPort to DVI-D SL adapter (see below). Downloaded the latest drivers from the nVidia website. Cons: DisplayPort to DVI-D SL adapter literally fell apart after a few months. Overall Review: Replaced the broken adapter that came with the card with a SIIG CB-DP0072-S1 DisplayPort to DVI Adapter Cable from NewEgg. Much better quality. Should have bought two of them at the time we bought the card and saved the extra labor.

Pros: This card is awesome. I do a lot of cad/cam work, with SW, Mcam, and sometimes Inventor. I have thrown some heavy files at this card, and it handles everything. Great card. Cons: None

Pros: Swapped Quadro 600 for the K2000 in an HP Z620 workstation: went from very good to smooth as silk in Solidworks and in Altium (pcb design). Install a snap. No lag. No issues. Multi-component assembly in rotation – no jitter, very very nice. Final render of a complex device: limited by the computational speed of the computer, but even with that, render was 2-3 times faster than with the k600 Cons: none. Overall Review: ok – one gripe but with the proviso that I am spoiled with solid state drives: I have gone from silent and serene to the constant sound of small fan whirring. Not bad, just there. The fact that it is inconsequential drives me nuts…

Pros: Increased rendering performance in Hoodoo and Modo.
(Don’t know if I spelled them right)
And with Photoshop and the like, no difference noticed. Cons: The main con is the price, and that it this a PCI Express 2.0 card, and not the next generation of PCI Express 3.0 Overall Review: Bought this for my son’s PC. He does a lot of Photoshop, and rendering graphics. He said he noticed a positive difference in the graphic rendering programs he uses, but not much difference in programs like Photoshop.
As for me, I think that if you pay this much for a entry level type Quadro card, it should really be PCI Express 3.0

Pros: Bought the card because I use three monitors and needed an interface that could provide that and this does. Easy to install in the PCI express slot and software downloaded and installed with no issues on a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit desk machine. Provides crisp resolution and quick response when scrolling or viewing video, although since I have no interest in gaming cannot comment on performance in that environment. Cons: None. Overall Review: Would recommend.
