Pros: My second iStarUSA case. Heavy, solid construction, very well built. Cons: There are absolutely NO instructions, so you will spend a lot of time unscrewing / screwing / scratching your head. First setup will be frustrating.
Sometimes components just won’t fit and you may need to make slight modifications. Overall Review: These guys really need to write instructions

Pros: They have good adjustability, and fit the chassis and rack I have well. Cons: Missing parts. Overall Review: I can do the last two reviews one better….my rails didn’t include EITHER the screws OR instructions! I’ve purchased these rails before, so I know what should have been included.
Luckily we have a machine shop here, and I was able to source screws, nuts, and other hardware to get them mounted. I’ll definitely shop around next time though…these rails aren’t cheap, and missing screws is pretty inexcusable.

Pros: These installed easily. Slots allowed flexible installation without having to drill. They slide nicely under a 2U chassis load. Cons: While adequate to the task, they are a bit high priced for light duty rails.
These rails do not lock in the extended position thus allowing the equipment to move in/out while working on it. Overall Review: Good, light duty rail system. Will likely by again, but will shop for better price.

Pros: They seem like nice rails Cons: The mounting holes in the L brackets are threaded, which makes them incompatible with the threaded holes in my rack.
This is not mentioned anywhere in the product description, and isn’t obvious from the photos.

Pros: Fit the rack. Cons: Doesn’t seem to fit evenly in the rack. Overall Review: I am using 3 of these and all appear to have same issue. I am using 2 different models of iStarUSA cases for these rails. When installing normally with the square hole adapters, and then pushing the case in, the case is not level, where the left side screw holes don’t line up with the square holes in the rack.
I had to rig it where the left side would be offset upwards about 3 mm so that it would slide in and align with the rack holes normally.
I have other railed equipment in the rack and it does not have this problem so it isn’t the rack’s fault. It is doable in the state but I don’t like having to rig things to get them to work.

Pros: Durable, Affordable, Easy to install! Cons: None Overall Review: Worked great for a Logisys CS4802BK Black 4U Rackmount Server Case. Bought two sets and very satisfied!

Pros: So I bought these generic IStarUSA rails to replace the absolutely garbage Chenbro model specific rails I had previously purchased that were far too cheap and flimsy to trust with the build. I have to say, all things considered- I’m happy with these rails. They’re not perfect, but they are sturdy and worth the price.
PROs:
– Solid Construction
– Smooth operation
– Sturdy (I trust these with my equipment) Cons: – Installation was not as easy as Dell Ready Rails or Some of SuperMicro’s model specific options, but it was not horrible.
– I really wish they had come with 4 more nuts and 2 more screws for mounting. Overall Review: Not necessarily a con, but these come absolutely slathered in grease.
I’m happy enough with these rails that I wound up buying a couple more sets for other builds.
These installed pretty painlessly and so far have remained smooth and secure several months later.
Another reviewer mentioned the screws were too long for the rails to slide. It seems obvious to me that he was mounting rails the wrong way. Nuts should go towards the outside of the rack while the Phillips head end of the screws should be closest to the center. I can’t imagine trying to mount them the other way around with the nuts inside the slide mechanism. with no room to grip the pliers to hold the nut in place it must have really sucked for him to try to mount them- that should have been his first clue that he was doing something wrong.

Overall Review: Put these rails on a Rosewill RSV-R4000U 4U Server Chassis, with two people it was a breeze to set up and rack, 0 issues for me.
