Pros: Seems well built. Looks good. Cons: Does not come with the rack ears. Does not come with (2) 40mm fans as stated on the listing from new egg. So-called “standard” power supply only lines up with one screw hole.

Pros: Sturdy. Buttons work. Cons: Had to flip the power supply over so the ATX power connector would reach. That required a little metal work on the back panel of the case.
No fans included. No ducting from chassis fan location to CPU heatsink. That is important, as there are not CPU heatsinks/fans which are low enough to fit.
The back panel EMI shield for ITX motherboards does not fit the case. I had to cut the top off the shield to make it fit. Not sure how it can claim to be an ITX compatible case when the backpanel opening is too small for an ITX shield.
Basically, this is a box where all the details are left to sort out. If you don’t have to worry about cooling, then it should work for you. However, given that it has a 300W power supply, it is hard to conceive of a system that won’t have some cooling concerns.
These 1U cases need a more complete solution. The room is so constrained, it is hard to find CPU coolers that will fit. As it is, I run the system without the cover on it. That is fine for a development system, but we won’t be using this case again.

Pros: Case is small and fits into a rack nicely. Layout is plain which is good. No waste in space with separate bars that do nothing. This is entirely an open case to allow maximum air flow. Cons: No fans! I am kind of shocked that there are no fans with this type of unit. I would of preferred iStar to include fans and just raise the price a little bit. They included a power bar for the fans, but NO fans. I can’t even run the unit closed right now because I need to order fans.

Pros: Solidly constructed for the price, Made of steel an an aluminum front bezel. Big enough for my DC powered motherboard, network expansion card hard drive and I was also able to permanently mount my motherboards AC to DC power brick internally. Nicely finished good cosmetic exterior surface and generally well built for the price. the Captive screws for the top are very nice touch and I received them NOT overtightened like most manufacturers do. Full compliment of screws and bolts needed for the case are included Cons: My biggest peeve with this case is the length of the USB header and control cabling. Very excessive for a case designed for a MINI ITX mobo. The fact that the 2 40 mm fans couldnt be included at this price is a little sad also, it would save so much time setting it up. The retention screw for the expansion card was very difficult to get put back in even with a magnetized screwdriver. Most of the cons are piddly details though especially when you factor in the price. Overall Review: This case was ordered to build a new pfSense powered router. I have an ASUS AT3IONT-I Deluxe mobo,4 gigs of lo profile kingston value ram, Intel dual gigabit nic expansion card 500 gig 2.5 inch mechanical hard drive and still at this moment waiting for my 40mm fans. The case was even roomy enough that I was able to install my motherboard ac to dc power supply in the spot wher a regular iu power saupply would fit. It will be hanging from a vertical 2u wall mount rack along with my dell managed network switch. All in all a decent buy.

Pros: -Very sturdy.
-No cheap plastic in this, all metal. Even the front panel.
-Very simplistic. No frills, no extra “features”, just a plain case. Cons: -Doesn’t come with fans.
-The screw holes for said fans, and the power supply don’t quite line up. A little work and you can get them in. More of an annoyance than anything.
-The front panel cables are about twice as long as they need to be.
-The real problem I have here, is that I received neither the fan header nor the IO shield shown in the pictures. The IO shield I guess I could live without, just cut down the stock one my board came with, but the fan header is a problem. I bought this case specifically because it it was shown with it. If I can’t even get what is shown, I doubt I’ll be buying anything from iStarUSA in the future. Overall Review: An oversight on my part, but note the expansion slot is full length. I hoped it was low profile, but didn’t pay any attention.

Pros: Price was unbeatable for this case. Perfect size for my portable DAW build. Solid construction and machining. Cons: The one I received is very different form the one pictured. Mine has NO side vents. This was a big deciding factor for me. and I am very disappointed they are non existent on my case. I can only hope that my system doesn’t overheat and shut down in the middle of a record take. Not cool…I suppose I can just drill some holes in the side for ventilation… My mobo backplate doesn’t fit, it will have to be trimmed down to fit. ..that was expected though. The PSU screw holes do not line up… just a little off… just enough to not allow a screw to pass. I will have to cut the chassis side wall with a dremel to get the PSU to fit properly… Huge oversight on the construction/fabrication team imo. Apparently I am not alone as several other posts have mentioned this issue. Overall Review: Overall I am pleased with this case, but the cons are very annoying. Instead of just putting this build together I have to think about how to fabricate it to fit my parts. The inaccurate picture on the add here is very misleading. Had I seen what I was getting I would have chosen another 1RU case. I should have taken more eggs away for this. but I still like that case and the work around aren’t that big of a deal to a repair tech DIY’r like myself.

Pros: Pros:
Cost
Ears are reversible so i could turn it around so that the motherboard ports faced the front of the case instead of the back.
Holes lined up with my power supply without issue Cons: Cons:
Ears are stupid. Why are they rounded and add an inch of space (that I didn’t have in my rack). I had to cut mine (see pictures) This is reason I had to remove a star, it is very unnecessary.
Quick Open screws are misleading….. Only work if you remove other case screws when putting into your rack.
LEDs are too bright ( I unplugged mine)
Case has to be completely disassembled to add fans…… Overall Review: So let’s just say that I like this case, especially when the cost is factored in. If you need a barebones 1U chassis to build a server/router (in my case pfSense), this is a good candidate.
Check out the other more in-depth reviews (AMZN) and you will get a good understanding of the case and it’s features. The things that I discuss below are just to add/accentuate some of the things that stood out to me.

Pros: – nice slim chassis
– great material. Cons: – does not come with fans and fans controller as the picture showing. ( i know it doesn’t say in the detail but they should show the real final product)
