Pros: SATA III
PCIe x1 Cons: Did not work with my older motherboard. I was unable to enter raid/bios setup but did well for additional sata ports Overall Review: Easy RMA for refund with Newegg

Pros: -4 SATA ports on one small card
-Cheap
-PCI-E x1 (best that I had available)
-Supports booting from an attached drive
I bought this card to add SATA ports for storage drives. My aging P5Q-E motherboard does not support HDDs larger than 2TB; this card allows me to use 4TB HDDs. Cons: -No RAID
-Could be faster
-Adds a few seconds to boot time
This card does not support RAID; it is strictly JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Drives). That being said, this card is nearly 10x cheaper than a RAID card.
PCI-E x1 v1.0 should allow for up to 250MB/s of bandwidth each way. I plugged my Vertex 4 SSD OS drive into the card and found (using ATTO) that it is slower than my motherboard’s SATA II controller. (175MB/s vs. 270 MB/s).Transferring files from an onboard SATA II HDD to a SATA III HDD on this card yields 90MB/s. For file storage and HDD it is plenty fast enough (what I bought it for), however I was a little disappointed with its performance using my SSD.
A couple of seconds are added to my boot up time when it displays the drives that are attached to the card. Not a big deal; could be worse. Overall Review: This card met my needs perfectly.
Allows me to add more storage drives, use 4TB HDDs, reasonably good transfer rates, and was cheap.
Recommended product for anyone with similar requirements.

Pros: Not really any pro’s. Cons: Tricky set up. Overall Review: I got this for my room mate, but he decided to get a whole new set up instead, and I got to play with this for a little bit.
Drivers were a bit tricky, you have to specifically pin point the driver itself in order to install, can’t do the folder which I thought I had a broken card but figure it out after all.
The card wasn’t that great, it was great for Windows environment but when it came down to transfer files from one drive to another in separate controller and in the same, the speeds weren’t that great, which I was surprised considering this is a 6GB rate card/controller.
And is this good for someone that has the need for extra SATA ports, but remember, something NOT mentioned anywhere on the newegg site is that you’ll need PCI-Ex version 2.0 in order to get 6GB speed, otherwise it’ll downgrade to 3GB/s speed.
I filed for an RMA but the re-stocking fee and shipping this back it’s pointless, so I’ll keep it, just in case.

Pros: Ordered 3 of these. 1 arrived DOA with capacitor rolling around inside the bag. Newegg was great and processed the RMA quickly and shipped out a new one.
I have 2 of these loaded so far and running about a week on my Linux Mint 17.3 computer.
I have 4 x 8TB Seagate Archive HDD’s on card 1
I have 1 x 8TB Seagate Archive HDD and 1’s on 1x 1TB WD Caviar Black HDD on card 2
I have the 5x 8TB (across 2 cards) HDDs configured using software MDADM RAID5.
both cards were immediately recognized by the system. No additional driver download was required.
All drives were immediately recognized by linux
All formatting and RAID build went seamless
Testing Read & Write speeds between SSD + 5x8TB built RAID5 using these cards + 8x6TB built RAID6 using MoBo SATA3 ports… All read & writes were comparable and acceptable between the 8TB archive drives built array and the 6TB regular 7200 rpm HDD’s built array.
Very pleased so far with the performance of these cards.
I called the vendor’s apps team before purchasing these cards as I was comparing with the many different options they had available. There were very capable and answered all my questions. Cons: minus 1 egg for the DOA Overall Review: Yes would recommend these cards to others
I will try and update further after a couple of months of usage.

Pros: -Excellent SATA Card. Adds 4 ports and only takes up 1 slot.
-All ports are real, rather than being port multiplied, or some other shennanigans.
-Installing drivers was a breeze. Just fire up the device manager and point it to the correct INF files. Tested on Win7 x64, Win10 x64, and temporarily on Linux Mint.
-No junkware required. I installed it anyway to check it out, but it works fine without.
-Barely affects POST times.
-Dipped to $25 CAD on sale!
-4K speeds are on-par with my onboard. (very good; a reasonable card for SSDs)
-I am using it for 6TB/8TB HDDs. Copies from one drive to another at maximum HDD performance. I wanted more space for recording and large projects. Cons: -Can’t think of any. Do your research. Only buy it if it meets your needs. Overall Review: -Bought another in case this one fails. Some people reported failures.
-Seems like most low egg reviews are failures to properly research the product. Since I’ve looked at many RAID controllers, I can tell you that this one actually has rather good/accurate documentation. I’d classify it poor compared to most other PC parts, and atrocious compared to motherboard documentation, but it’s very good for RAID controller documentation. (Which is almost never accurate.)

Pros: – adds 4 additional SATA ports
– decent transfer rate
– easy to install with plug and play setup Cons: – Any hard drive plugged into this card reads like an eject-able storage device. Drives can be accidentally ejected which requires restarting windows to reactivate the drive. Overall Review: I wanted to add additional hard drives to my media PC as all the SATA ports on my motherboard were in use. This was a cheap and easy way to do that. Installing the card was simple and it instantly detected my hard drives when I booted to Windows 7. The only downside is as mentioned in the cons section, any hard drives connected to this card act like USB storage where they can be ejected from the task bar. If you happen to have a flash drive in the USB port and eject the wrong item you will need to restart windows to bring your hard drive back. I would have preferred if this card would read them as internal drives like how a motherboard does.

Pros: I installed the IOCrest SI-PEX40064 PCI-Express 2.0 Low Profile Ready SATA III card on my Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L motherboard. The old motherboard has an ICH7 chipset that does not support TRIM. With this card, my SATA III SSD boots fast and TRIM is enabled. Easy upgrade. Plug-n-play: no drivers needed. Cons: None that I can see.

Pros: Reasonable cost, works right away without needing to find and activate it under a hardware list, and i didn’t have to look for drivers. Linux Mint 18, Sylvia, recognized it right away and mounted the first drive i plugged in to test it. Cons: None. Overall Review: I recommend this if you like Linux and are making a server, as I am. I got this device for a RAID and chose it because it offers me 4 ports.
