Pros: I got this for a FreeNas build in a Super-micro MBD-X11SPM-TF-O motherboard. So far I have only maxed it out at around 25% while having 2 clients pushing a full 1gbps simultaneous write. I have not created any jails or VMs yet. It also seems to run pretty cool at 39c at 20% load. My CPU temp is usually a good 20c lower than the chipset temp on my motherboard when using a super-micro SNK-P0068APS4 heatsink running at 2k rpm. Cons: The only issue with this socket type is that they do not come with a heatsink. Seems like the most acceptable course is to go direct to you motherboard maker and buy one from them for your specific motherboard.

Pros: I bought two of these to test various single and double socket motherboards. They both worked, and they have served this purpose admirably. The performance difference of the Silver 4108 at twice the price is very noticeable as you would expect. Cons: Just acceptable performance.
