Pros: – Installation procedure was a breeze.
– Battery pack fits into the UPS easily.
– Came fully charged, even though the instructions say to charge for 12 hours before using.
– Good availability at several retailers. Cons: – HEAVY! But that’s the nature of lead-acid batteries; just be prepared and wear your steel-toed shoes, just in case!
– Instructions for my model of UPS weren’t quite accurate, although nothing major — just a couple of extra screws holding a bracket in place. Overall Review: The big UPS these batteries went into is probably close to 10 years old and this is the second battery change I’ve done on it. For the first change, I decided I’d just get individual batteries from my local Batteries Plus store. It worked, but isn’t the ideal solution: it seems like the batteries were just a bit bigger than CyberPower’s, and it was a royal pain to get everything to fit. The CyberPower replacement pack fit easily, slid right into place without hassle or having to force-fit anything. I don’t remember the price savings of getting the individual batteries at the local store, but it definitely was not worth the hassle.
I was wondering if batteries for this older unit would still be available, but they were, from several different suppliers, and in stock.
I’ve used CyberPower UPS’s for a long time — solid build quality and excellent, responsive service. I’m currently using 3 of them here at home, from my heavy professional unit to a small home unit, all working flawlessly.
