Pros: Creative came a long way with this device. Many will not realize the improvement in sound quality until they actually plug this device in and hear for themselves. I think the main feature to highlight is the fact that you can use across different platforms(PC,Consoles,My Android phone w/ usb adapter). This device will boost the sound quality and sound level for sure. I would recommend this purchase to all gamers and audiophiles. Cons: None that I have ran across personally but it would be nice if they included a power supply. Although you can purchase a rechargeable battery pack to power this on the go. Overall Review: I enjoy using this device for my gaming pc at home, gaming laptop on the go, and android device when listening to music.

Pros: + Under 100 USD (paid 99USD on the Black Friday Deal).
+ Supports DSD over PCM up to DSD128.
+ Sound quality is on par, if not better than the Dragonfly Red DAC at less than half the price.
+ Gaming related features are pretty great with realtime virtual surround sound effect.
+ Hardware Dolby decoding included Cons: – Setting up DSD over PCM using foobar2000 (Windows), foo_dsd_asio output can be challenging. Many instructions on the web are already outdated.
– Volume control can be improved.

Pros: -Amazing sound quality
-Stylish on you desktop.
-Scout mode is so nice in games like Fortnite, Apex. Cons: None so far. Overall Review: You think the onboard sound provided by your motherboard is good until you try this…

Pros: So being a custom gaming desktop user for years, when I decided to purchase my first gaming laptop (Alienware M17) I just didn’t like the built-in sound chip though it is a good one, I’ve just never been a fan of onboard sound chips. Since I have always used Creative sound cards in my custom gaming desktops I decided to give this external DAC a try. Man, was this ever the right choice!
This external sound card is simply perfect. Sounds great no matter if you’re playing a game, listening to music, or watching a video. This is about the size of a small external drive. Fits in your pocket, laptop bag, backpack with ease. Worked flawlessly soon as I connected it to the laptop. The only thing I had to do after connecting this up was download the Connect 2 software, set up the sound profiles I wanted for music, gaming, etc and I was off and running. Love this thing it was the smartest purchase for achieving great sound on my laptop. It’s loud with my desktop speakers (Klipsch) and very clean and clear when playing music. The scout mode for gaming is great which I use all the time when playing FPS games.
My sound profiles are correctly set after each cold boot so haven’t experienced any issues in that department like others have reported and it fires up properly each time I have cold started my laptop. I have even changed the USB port I have this plugged into with no issues of it connecting or having the right sound profile selected. Cons: None, this came packaged up very nicely from creative and it just worked flawlessly out of the box. Overall Review: If you are in the market for a decent sound card for your laptop, desktop, gaming console, etc, then you cannot go wrong with purchasing this external sound card. You will be happy you did once you get it and set it up.

Pros: Great value Cons: Volume knob needs quite a bit of turning to make obvious changes Overall Review: I got this for music production, I use 64 bit/384 KHz audio files and needed something to play the project back without resampling hundreds of tracks on the fly, which is really CPU-intensive. I was at 92 KHz before so no difference in sound quality but that wasn’t the point anyway.
I was a little concerned at first because the “Scout Mode” button keeps flashing, which usually means a device is waiting for something or other, but it turns out that’s normal for “Direct Mode” so don’t be alarmed as I was.
The headphone amp is a nice touch, and I actually like the options for lighting. I’m not into RGB effects but it sits on my desk and it’s kind of soothing with the pulsing light on top.
My only complaint would be that that volume dial takes a lot to make any changes, which is both good and bad. It’s nice to be able to fine tune the adjustment, which is the point , but there are times when something unexpectedly hits way too loud and I need to crank it down fast, and I feel like I’m spinning it forever. But each user will have their own preferences. It does throw up a little on-screen box when you touch the volume, so an alternative is to just grab the slider with the mouse for quick changes.
Great product, highly recommended!

Pros: Motherboard sounds chips are such low quality! I Remember the good old days when Sound Cards were something we all wanted and for good reason No POP sounds when we boot up no crackling and hissing. The software to control this DAC also makes it possible to switch between my amp and speaker and a pair of headphones with a click of a button no reboot required any more due to sound stuck in one mode. One of the best features though is the volume nob that also has a mute option build in. Cons: None so far, flawless! Overall Review: The best my PC has sounded in years. I cannot believe I was fooled by the cheap low budget sound card included on my motherboard for so long.

Pros: Easy to install and hook up Cons: If I had to pick something it would be the fact that there’s no covers for input/output ports.
Other than that. Amazing! Overall Review: This product is awesome! I recently switched from a gaming headset to an audiphile pair of headphones. This DAC is a simple hook up and installation. Audio software is easy to use. Sound is awesome. I can hear everything I want to hear and more. So long gaming headsets!no covers for the ports for input/output. But.. other than thatAMAZING.

Pros: – Love the size and the form factor.
– Buttons on the side to easily and quickly activate Scout Mode and SBX.
– Keyboard’s volume wheel controls the volume of the amplifier.
– Scout Mode and certain SBX profiles make video games sound fantastic. Cons: – I would have liked more buttons on the unit itself, or different means of enabling more/better control over the selection of different SBX profiles for different use cases/scenarios.
– Even on high gain, I feel like I’m not getting as much volume as I would like using Sennheiser HD650 headphones when listening to certain media which is mixed at a lower volume… but maybe I’m just getting old. Overall Review: Yes, I would recommend this product at the price it’s selling for. However, if this amplifier were to stop functioning, I might look for an alternative which would be able to give my headphones (Sennheiser HD650) some more power.
