Pros: It’s a power strip. It works. What else do you want to know, really? Cons: none Overall Review: Um.. just how does one review a power strip?

Pros: None Cons: I needed several Power Strips with Surge Peotection. I called Newegg and the Rep said that she thought that they did have Surge Protection, but wasn’t positive. She told me to call Belkin and verify it. After 20 – 30 minutes of “investigation” the first Belkin Rep said that he was fairly certain that they had Surge Protection. I told him that I needed to be sure. He gave me a different extension to call and, after about 15 minutes of “investigation” that Rep said that their tech specialist told her that they did have Surge Ptotection, so I ordered 5 of them.
When I opened the box, they were all clearly labeled:
“THIS PRODUCT IS NOT A SURGE PROTECTOR” Overall Review: When I order computer products from all of the other vendors that I buy from, I am able to get reliable info about their products by calling them. This doesn’t ever seem to happen with Newegg!
No one there ever seems to have a clue and this apparently applies to Belkin, as well!

Pros: Low cost and reliable for basic needs. Cons: With no light indicating the strip is on, you have to rely on reading the button to tell if the power strip is on. No surge protection available.

-The outlets are about a quarter inch further apart than a standard power strip Cons: The plug for the wall is not at a 90 degree angle, which can be good or bad depending on your application.

Pros: Six plugs Cons: Short cord, plugs are just close enough that plugging a wall-wart into one will block two. Overall Review: It’s a power strip. Nothing fancy here.

Pros: It’s a quality power strip that is UL and CSA safety listed. Cons: There are no cons. Overall Review: This is a power strip – NOT a surge protector. I saw reviews of people complaining, because they don’t understand the difference between a power strip and a surge protector.
Many are not aware that one of the biggest causes of fires are sub-standard power strips. There have been news reports showing how many bargain bin power strips are unsafe, because they are constructed below safety standards. An example of this is when a power strip is manufactured with an insufficient gauge of copper wire, which then in turn overheats from the electrical current that is passing through the wire, which then causes the power strip to catch fire. Because of this you have to be careful when buying a bargain bin or non-UL/CSA safety listed power strips. It’s not worth risking a fire to save a couple of dollars.
