Overall Review: Sharp for the screen size. Bright and lot of features.

  2. Mohako

Pros: Tons of features vs the competition,
    – Black frame insertion
    – comes calibrated out of the factory
    – mount for a webcam on the monitir stand
    – RGB
    – Tons of options in OSD to your liking
    -Very good HDR
    -Wide color gamut
    -240hz refresh rate
    – 4k resolution
    – OSD mode to use 27 inch aspect
    – very nice design. Cons: -Pricey ( especially if you arent in the USA)
    – pixel cleaning warning can be very annoying
    – very hard to buy at the moment due to low stock Overall Review: Overall this is a really solid monitor. It has a ton of features that the competition doesn’t have and the premium for it isnt that much more in the USA. Its also a 32inch flat panel so you get high PPI and perfect size for viewing 4K content. This monitir also can update its firmware so any potential bugs can always be fixed via connecfing the monitirs usb B connection cable inti your pc and just downloading said firmware.
If you are holding out and REALLY want this monitor i HIGHLY suggest you get it. Make sure to use stock alert apps to get notifucations asap in order to have a higher chance of buying the monitor!

Pros: -Specs: 4k, 240 mhz refresh rate, OLED, HDR (in theory), response time, gtg etc.
    -SDR looks amazing
-I like the aesthetic Cons: -HDR is broken right now Overall Review: This monitor is not ready for prime time and you should know that before plunking down 1300+ after taxes. HDR is only about half the advertised brightness. There are also a variety of smaller bugs but none as big as the HDR issue.
A firmware update has been rumored that will fix this but as of this writing it is not live and this monitor has been available for going on 6 weeks. This bug was either known and ASUS decided to sell the monitor anyway or they were oblivious to it (it is almost universal outside of YouTube review samples). Neither option puts ASUS in the best light.
I am going to stick it out due to what this monitor could potentially be once all this is ironed out but you should definitely be aware of this issue when purchasing such an expensive piece of hardware.
On the positive side SDR looks amazing.
Once ASUS resolves this issue I will update this review.

    Pros: QD-OLED
    240hz
    Fantastic Color
Gaming Cons: Refresh rate reverting to 120hz after every reboot on DP. Works fine with HDMI.
VRR Flickering is a real issue that needs to be addressed. Overall Review: This monitor is really great, but I have an issue with it. I don’t know if it’s just isolated to my setup or perhaps just this particular monitor, but every single time I reboot my PC or turn it on for the day, it reverts to 120Hz. The only way I’m able to get 240Hz out of this monitor after that is to toggle VRR on or off, or off and on depending on how the setting is. It’s pretty annoying to have to do this every single time. For that reason alone I can’t give it a 5. It’s such an annoying problem that I can’t even give it a 4 star rating.
UPDATE: It appears there is an issue with my secondary monitor being used with my setup. Both monitors use DP, but if I disconnect my secondary monitor, the PG32UCDM boots up in 240hz every time and the issue is gone. I don’t know if this is wide spread or not. I’m tempted to just go with a single monitor setup, not only because it fixes my problem but because this monitor makes my other one look like absolute garbage in comparison. Updated to 4 eggs.
UPDATE #2: The more I’ve used this monitor the more I’m starting to have more negative thoughts on it. If you are playing a game with VRR enabled (why wouldn’t you) and you run ito some darker scenes, the VRR flicker is so visually breaking that you may have to just turn it off. During my playthrough of CyberPunk 2077, I simply had to turn it off because the VRR was driving me insane. This isn’t really an acceptable solution. I don’t know if I need to initiate a return on this monitor or if there is something ASUS can do it resolve this, but it’s really, really bad. Updating my score.

    Pros: Great screen quality,
    Excellent colors and vibrancy
Perfect size and pixel density Cons: Stopped working during normal use
ASUS did not honor advanced replacement policy
Have been trying to get a replacement for nearly a month
They wanted to send me a 3 year old IPS monitor as a replacement
Last week they said they would overnight me a replacement and have ghosted me since (no tracking or any information regarding the replacement since) Overall Review: Great monitor. Not worth the support headache and the advanced replacement policy is not being honored by ASUS which ironically (coincidentally) was the main reason I purchased this monitor over the competition, I paid the ASUS tax in exchange for a guaranteed easy replacement if something goes wrong and they dropped the ball hard. Since then asus support has gaslit me about what is going on with the monitor and now are just ghosting me after confirming they would send me a replacement. Really sad state of affairs and would not recommend anyone purchase their equipment if there is even a remote possibility that you will need to use their warranty. If you really want the monitor get a reputable 3rd party warranty and avoid ASUS entirely. Massive disappointment.

Pros: – Those inky black that people rave about has to be seen to believe.
    – Great color out of the box.
    — Ultra fast response time.
    – 4K 240HZ
    – You’ve heard all the good stuff from others by now let’s move on to the bad… Cons: – Black screen issue. Explanation below (Firmware bug? Bad panel lottery???)
    – Price to quality ratio. Overall Review: – I have owned and used this monitor enjoying every second of it the moment it arrived for the past 3 weeks now. It has been flawless since arrival up until last night. During a gaming session (Battlefield 2042) the screen suddenly turned BLACK. Deep black like its turned off, but it’s on, yes it’s OLED but since the LED light indicator is still lit fully red that’s the only way that you know the device is on. I thought this was my faulty GPU but no it could not be, because my 2nd monitor next to this one is still responsive showing my HWinfo and other metrics/discord. It could not be a windows issue or driver issue because my second monitor is still functional, and the game is still running as can be heard through my headphones. I tried to toggle the OSD on to switch input to try triggering the image back on but even the OSD would not show up on screen even though the monitor is on (logo fully bright red still). I know for a fact it is not a proximity sensor issue because I have disabled that setting through the OSD the day that I’ve received the monitor. The only way to get the image back was to turn off the monitor and turning it back on. Now mind you this is a $1300 monitor that is supposed to be a flagship product and “end game”, but it does not feel that way when during an intense gaming session your game screen would just turn black and being non responsive all of the sudden. No reviewers or youtubers have mentioned this issue besides a few owners that I found on reddit and the official ROG forum by just simply googling “PG32UCDM black screen issue during gaming”. There is a thread on the ASUS ROG forum that has over 270 replies with people having similar issue. So far ASUS has not officially commented on the matter or acknowledge the problem and are working on a fix yet. I’ve seen a couple people being privately messaged on the forum with a custom firmware that they can send a data log back to the back end team working on the fix but so far they say they have not identified the issue or been able to reproduce it yet. I don’t know about you but if I’m spending over $1300 on a new technology, I expect it to work flawlessly. I can’t be bothered to be scouring the forums or depth of internet to find others with the same issue only to find that ASUS has not spoke on this matter or plan on releasing a fix. Not sure if this is a bad panel that I received from lottery or it’s a firmware issue. Keep in mind others have also stated that since this uses the Samsung panel, there are G80SD owners that ran into this issue also (black screen randomly during gaming, non responsive). Overall I had really wanted this monitor for a long time and it really was the best I have ever owned but now after coming across this issue, I realized that it is not worth the price or keeping unless ASUS releases a statement or a fix. You don’t want to shell out the big bucks only to fall in love and enjoy everything about it and out of nowhere during an intense gaming session your monitor would just go dud, black, non responsive, leaving you to physically turn off then turn on the monitor again to get your image back. To me that doesn’t feel like a premium or flagship product. I will be returning this to newegg as I cannot be bothered to deal with an RMA process with ASUS (scared of them denying then charging me a million dollar for a fix + long wait time with no fix / no supply). BUYERS BE WARNED. Like I said earlier, just do a quick google of “PG32UCDM black screen issue during gaming” and you will find plenty threads & owners with this issue. I really wanted to keep this monitor too but no, I want a peace of mind when I’ve shelled out that kind of money, not to worry if another one would be another dudor if its a widespread issue that hasn’t been addressed yet. Seems like others that have gotten RMA / Replacement from ASUS / Newegg reported they still had the issue occasionally so my confidence on this item is a low 2, worthy of a return. I’ll wait until the new models arrive next year maybe they will have ironed out these issues.

Pros: Great gaming picture, when it is viewable Cons: Really looked forward to this monitor being one of the newer 4K monitors, and I buy Asus a lot. However, this monitor routinely goes black during gaming. No matter what the settings I set there is no improvement, including firmware updates. Do a Google search for the monitor Model and black screen and you will see a LOT of problems. This is a ridiculous problem for this price point. The only thing that changed on my computer, was the monitor. Overall Review: Would not recommend DO NOT BUY. I will edit this review if a fix comes out.

  8. Charles T.

Pros: Bright ,smooth motion. Great colors Cons: Pricey, but worth it. Overall Review: I had an alienware 3418, was getting a dull look. I game 90% of the time. This monitor just pops and motion is smooth.
