Pros: IPMI is jaw dropping fantastic. Much the same features of Dell iDRAC or HP iLO. Automatically set to utilize DHCP so when you plug in to the mgmt port (the single nic by default) it will accept an IP. I had to go to my DHCP server to find what ip was assigned but once I got it, I could log into the board IPMI no problem using a browser with the default admin – password. No Memory or CPU required even. Just power. Cons: The board comes stock with the base level 1.0 BIOS but if you want to run an 11th gen processor on it, you need to update the BIOS to 2.10+. In a perfect world, you would simply go to the asrack site and download the new BIOS and apply it using the IPMI console but… here’s the kicker – ASRACK doesn’t have the updated BIOS for this board on their site for some mysterious reason but simply says “you need it”. It literally looks like the site maintainers just didn’t care about this board and neglected to add any of the Firmware/BIOS updates. Until they do, you got 2 ways of getting it – 1) open a support case and wait for ASRack to respond. I’ve been waiting 2 weeks with no luck so ya… 2) Find someone trustworthy who already has it and ask nicely. Overall Review: Awesome Product – Terrible Support
Would I have bought this board if I would have known the headache it caused? No.
Am I pleased with this board and its features? Most definitely.
Would I recommended the product? Sure, but only if you plan on using a gen 10 cpu or if you can get your hands on on the updated BIOS files.
Is Asrack responsible for making me cry every night alone in my basement for a week straight in the fetal position rocking back and forth. Yes. Yes they are.
