Pros: APC official battery. It shipped fast, as we’re in the same region as one of the Newegg shipping centers, effectively overnight. Installed just fine. There didn’t appear to be any difference between buying from Newegg vs ordering through our rep at a competitor or directly through APC. Cons: Shipping can be expensive because the batteries are very heavy. Price was cheaper than other places until you add shipping. Newegg has been good to me, so I went with them anyways. Overall Review: This was for a SmartUPS 1500VA.

Pros: It works. It came fully charged (APC’s literature made it seem like it would have to be charged for 6-8 hours before running self-test.) Cons: Purchased through Newegg, so I’ll have to find some other option for properly disposing of the old battery. Overall Review: I bought a Smart-UPS (SUA1000) second-hand for very little cash, its battery charged fine but wouldn’t pass the self-test. I wasn’t sure the battery was the problem, because it charged and had the right voltage at the terminals, but with this new battery it’s working properly.
Normally I would have used APC’s trade-in program, but it wouldn’t give me any credit for this particular UPS. Newegg had the battery slightly cheaper.

Pros: easy to install, fits properly Cons: dead with in a year Overall Review: I bought this battery @ 12/1 2008 and @12/3 2009 the the APC unit started to beep with a red light on. I own a another older APC unit and the thing is still going strong, ( 6+ years lol ) I can’t expect this thing to last me 6 years but a year…. I was hoping at least 3 years with this kind of price 🙁 I guess its a hit or miss with this kind of product.
I guess I’ll have to do more research on ups

Pros: This is a real APC battery and replacement was fast and easy. Newegg shipped it very quickly. Hopefully will give me another 5-6 years of life out of the higher end APC ups I have. Cons: It no longer contains the return shipping labels, so to be eco friendly, you’ll have to return it to a local Staples or some other large battery recycling facility.

Pros: APC re-branded replacement battery is usually ready to install and somewhat pre-charged because it goes thru performance testing process. You have the cable assemblies / connectors installed. Cons: They are expensive and lately, the longevity is not there. This is also true for other SLA battery brands. I have been rebuilding the battery assembly for our data center rackmounts and standalones, for over 10 years. Previously, they last about 30-36 months. Now I am seeing as low as 15 to 24 months. If you have to replace a single failed battery unit from a pack, you might as well replace them all for a complete rebuild. Overall Review: True- sometimes, it is cheaper to buy a new UPS but it will also require downtime to replace it. When you run a mission critical server, it is more practical to replace the battery module with the server stying online. You just need to be more proactive in responding to those replace battery warnings. When you buy the battery itself, stick with respectable brands, you get much better service life out of them.

Pros: Genuine APC battery. APC says their batteries last around 4 years, and my last two batteries both lasted around that time. Cons: If you buy it from APC directly, they’ll send you a box with a return shipping label so that you can send it off to them to have it recycled. The Newegg battery didn’t come with this. Overall Review: I was thinking about buying a generic brand, but considering the cost of my equipment and the possible loss of data, I went with the brand name. I’m sure there are some small difference, but a battery is probably just a battery. So, I spent more for piece of mind.

Pros: Brand name – Would expect battery to last as advertised ( 3 – 5 yrs. ) Cons: Only lasted 2 yr. 6 mo. 9/12/2011 – 3/25/2014 Not good for a Name Brand product Overall Review: Could there have been a bad batch ? I see others also purchased late 2011 that died. Will not spend the money for Genuine APC again.

If I could provide a negative 5 rating it would be appropriate Cons: On 7/8/2018 I purchased what should have been an APC OEM brand replacement battery advertised on Newegg.com. The product listing has pictures showing the part as the APC OEM brand part as well as stating the brand was APC and using the APC part number under the specifications https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2F856F0483
Unfortunately, what they ship and you receive is an expensive, knock off product.
As a long time customer of Newegg, I contacted them seeking assistance with the return of this falsely advertised product. What I heard from the Newegg customer service agent is that since they sell it through their Marketplace it’s not their problem and they couldn’t complete the process to have the item picked up for return and issue a refund. Based on Newegg’s customer service handling this issue I’m going to use their competitor A going forward because they take ownership of problems and make sure they are resolved.
I suggest you save yourself a lot of time and frustration and avoid both BuyVPC.com and Newegg. Overall Review: You will pay the higher price for an APC brand OEM battery, but you will receive a lesser quality non OEM APC battery. Don’t waste your time and money purchasing this item here.
