Pros: This UPS replaced an APC Smart UPS 750 RM 2U – also a rackmount unit. The SRT1000RMXLA adds a super-functional display, power-conditioning capabilities in addition to larger battery capacity/improved runtime. Cons: Always-on front-facing fan — just a little noisy in a quiet environment. Heavy! Nearly 50lbs. It appears that replacement batteries are a little spendy, nearly 30% of the cost of the unit. Overall Review: I definitely recommend this unit if you’re looking for power-conditioning (voltage and frequency), long runtime for light loads (I use this one to back up home gateway, wireless access point, home security router, and a network switch. Allows us to keep internet, phone, security system going in a power outage.

Overall Review: When this was first hooked up it made a buzzing sound like something was messed up and then not even 6 months later the batteries all say they need replaced

Overall Review: I have another unit in this series that does 1000 VA, but we outgrew it in 6 months. 2200 VA is just before the price spikes for the 5000. Too bad that the 1000 VA extra battery units are not compatible with this unit, but that seems to be the fault of the 1000 VA unit as that is the only one using the 48V packs. Should have gotten this model the first time!
