External Battery Packs Available Cons: Unit had a malfunction within 30 days of purchase. (AVR) Automatic Voltage Relay Weld Failure. The fix from APC was a firmware update. Well it turns out this relay is only used when voltage is coming in only its dropped to low, say 95 volts. Well the firmware update kept it from happening until i was out of warranty. Now it happens again whenever the voltage drops to that level. Isn’t often but it shuts off all outgoing power and doesnt turn it back on when brownout is over. This is what happens when they use firmware to manipulate a repair that is caused by a hardware failure, they don’t want to warranty. Unfotunately I bought the external battery packs. now i am stuck replacing the unit with the same garbage model because the battery packs aren’t interchangeable with other models. Overall Review: Time for another company to step up and put out UPS products with ethernet connectivity and force APC to put out a better product at a lower price

Pros: Silent! My last UPS (Tripplite) could be heard two rooms away. Can’t hear this one sitting right next to it.
It’s really stable when used in tower orientation due to the battery being in the bottom. Construction is really solid. Cons: Web interface only supports one user at a time. Including that session from the browser window you just closed. Have to wait up to 10 minutes before you can log in again.

Pros: Enough power to keep our server and network running for 1 hr Cons: Needs three prong 30A twist receptacle to power up but it can deliver enough current for two servers, etc. Overall Review: Helpful after a winter of ice storms, power outages and major power quality issues caused by trees hitting power lines.

Pros: The UPS has more than enough power to run our server closet. It has enough outlets to give the server their own outlet. I still needed a power strip for all of the small stuff.
The UPS send you and email if the power goes out and can email of the room temp get to high. this thing rocks Cons: The mounting hardware does not work for our type of rack (4 post round holes). we had to drill two holes into the mounting bracket so we could connect the front screws.

Pros: Has multiple 20 amp plugs, twist lock 20 amp plugs, as well as 15 amp plugs Cons: Does not come with a network management card (optional accessory) Overall Review: Overall this is a great battery backup with many options. Highly recommended.

Pros: Easy client setup, especially with the network shutdown software. Runs very quiet. Cons: None that I can think of, although some sample server shutdown plans would’ve been appreciated in the instructions. I’m a newbie with such sophisticated UPS systems. Overall Review: You must update the UPS firmware to the latest version immediately. The installed firmware caused the user interface to lock up and be rendered useless. Couldn’t even access the unit through telnet. Had to access it through the serial cable to unlock it and reset the passwords. Problems disappeared after updating the firmware to the latest available online.

Pros: It is an awesome unit! I had an electrician run a dedicated 20A circuit to guarantee it has the power it needs. Has been running flawlessly. Cons: The extended run section never arrived. Note the two sections in my picture and what is shown on theirs. Also their add states it arrives with the extended run option (the lower section I do not have). If it was not for the weight of the unit, I would have returned. Overall Review: Be very wary of their ads as I was burnt.
