    Pros: – Quiet quiet quiet
    – Screen has lots of info and is easy to understand
    – Lights aren’t too bright
    – More outlets than I could ever need Cons: – Honestly, none that I can see so far. Doesn’t look like much so maybe a sleeker design would be nice? Overall Review: Over the last few years I’ve had lots of scares with power flickers, and honestly it’s just annoying to have to keep starting your computer up, so I figured it was time to get a UPS. Needed one that was at least 1000 VA for my gaming PC, needed one compatible with my Active PFC power supply, so this one fit the bill nicely at a reasonable price. I paid about $140 for it. It does everything it says it should do and I haven’t had any problems with power flickers since I hooked it up.
A couple of things to address some of the other reviews. This thing operates nearly silently. There is a slight noise from it being such a heavily electronic piece of equipment (think the high-pitched whine of a CRT television) but I can literally only hear it if I put my ear right up next to the thing. I’ve seen a few people say that it dies after three years. Well three years just happens to be when they say to replace the battery inside the thing, so……DURR?
My power supply is a 620W power supply and the total full load of my PC including peripherals is around 400W. Usually my load is just under 200W. With a game running, I have somewhere between 20 and 35 minutes of battery power depending on the load, and when the system is sitting idle I have nearly an hour. Sitting here, writing this review, I have Chrome and Mass Effect Andromeda running along with a number of background programs and it’s sitting at 33-34 minutes of runtime.
    Definitely would recommend.

Pros: Worked for a while. Cons: Bought in November. Died in February. No warnings. Just totally dead. Overall Review: Do not recommend. There were a number of reviewers stating theirs also died on them shortly after purchase. Now I’m one of them. What an expensive doorstop. Buyer beware.

  3. Reed T.

Pros: just had the power company shut down all power to my place without notification…. sitting here working and online.. not even a second passed between the time the power went off and when this ups took over.. a blink really… and showed me real time estimate of minutes left of back up power… Cons: none… Overall Review: i have all my equipment including my two pc s , monitor, modem, router, external back up drive, even my phone hooked up through this unit.. even the modem didn’t have to reset… very happy now seeing how well this functioned for me in a real life situation…

  4. Jonathan C.

Pros: Most reasonably priced pure sine wave UPS
Pure sign wave Cons: Makes a chirping noise every few seconds, like a camera flash charging up. Not terribly loud, but enough to be annoying in my quiet study. Overall Review: Do not buy this product to put in a bedroom due to the chirp, it will drive you insane. If you are putting it in a louder space it should be fine and not noticeable. Seems to be a common issue.
Seems to be working fine other than the chirp.

  5. David H.

Pros: – Potentially good Linux support
    – Button to turn off chirping
    – Simple, useful display that is not always on
    – Great customer support Cons: – Questionable reliability (see below). Perhaps there are issues with the design of the pure sine wave version of the UPS as opposed to the step function version. Overall Review: My first unit failed shortly after I started using it. Basically I came home to find my workstation off and UPS smelling a bit like burnt plastic (though not as bad as some people have described here). Load was about 300-400W, well below what this UPS was designed for. As per the manual I unplugged the UPS from the wall and unplugged everything from the UPS, but when I plugged it back in it sparked.
After writing a review here, Schneider Electric contacted me with instructions on how to contact them and arrange for a replacement. After a few minutes on-line with a support specialist we had a replacement arranged, and a couple days later I received a new unit and a pre-paid return shipping label (I was able to use the box to ship the unit back to APC).
So far the replacement unit has performed well, and I was impressed at how quick and easy exchanging the units was.

  6. Joe

    Pros: Easy to setup.
My NAS recognized it right away. Nothing special required. Cons: None so far. We’ll see how lone the battery life goes. Overall Review: Easy to setup out of the box. I plugged the UPS in first and made sure the batter was charged up. Then my devices.
I have an Asustor NAS with 8 drives. I connected it along with my router and cable modem. Plugged in the USB and started everything up. According to the UPS I’m running about 15% load. I did a test and unplugged the UPS from the wall and it was showing that I had about 35min of backup which is fine. I set the NAS to shut down after 10min on batt and let it go. Everythings been fine so far.
I bought this unit because of the AVR feature which is really nice. It makes me feel better about trying to run my devices on generator power if I had to.
The price was fair. I’m probably going to get another one for my desktop.

    Pros: – No fan noise
    – Long battery life
    – Easy to setup
    – LCD Display turns off when not in use
    – True sinewave
    – Smaller package than my other older UPS with more power.
    – Energy Star Rated Cons: – Weird USB cable connection. RJ-45 to USB. Works but not using standard cabling. Overall Review: This product was exactly what I needed for my home desktop computer. Was thinking of getting a APC Smart UPS but they were costly and had more features on them than I was going to use. The low end UPS did not have sinewave output. This one was between the two options that provide clean output power with the features needed for a desktop computer. It was also great for the home in that the LCD display turns off when not actively being used. There is no fan noise. The USB connection to the Windows 10 computer auto recognized the UPS and will turn off the computer if it runs out of power. No extra software needed.

Pros: The physical size is not super big for its rated abilities. Worked great when it worked. The fact that it has 10 total plugs with 6 dedicated to battery is nice. Cons: Purchased 03/17/2021, died 06/11/2021 with F02 error. Smelled burned electronics like the other similar reviews. Inspection date was 10/17/2020.
Disappointed I got a unit from a bad batch of components. If I were to guess, the normal “high” quality components weren’t available due to supply chain issues and lower quality components were sourced to meet demand.
Only other complaint is the two offset plugs for larger transformers, are so low on the chassis they are pointless to actually use with larger transformers as they will interfere with whatever surface the UPC is placed upon. This is a poor design decision where the engineers weren’t really paying attention to the details. The sheer number of plugs should make up for this design flaw in most scenarios but it’s frustrating when companies don’t think about the little things. Overall Review: I have not contacted APC tech support to RMA yet due to weekend hours. Overall the unit seemed to work fine for what I need it for to power an 800w desktop computer and monitor.
I looked for firmware and software but there doesn’t appear to be any firmware updates for this model. The website also doesn’t show any “software” for this model when searching either. I’m sure there’s software available as a universal package, however it isn’t easy to find when searching for this model and I honestly didn’t care enough to dig for it.
