2. Max boost for AMD Ryzen processors is the maximum frequency achievable by a single core on the processor running a bursty single-threaded workload. Max boost will vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to: thermal paste; system cooling; motherboard design and BIOS; the latest AMD chipset driver; and the latest OS updates. GD-150.

3. Precision Boost Overdrive requires an AMD Ryzen Threadripper or a Ryzen 3000/4000/5000 series desktop processor, and a compatible motherboard. AMD Ryzen 3400G and 3200G series processors are not compatible. Because Precision Boost Overdrive enables operation of the processor outside of AMD’s published specifications, use of the feature invalidates the AMD product warranty and may also void warranties offered by the system manufacturer or retailer. Availability of Precision Boost Overdrive in pre-built OEM desktop systems will vary based on the PC manufacturer’s settings. Check with the PC manufacturer prior to purchase. GD-179.

4. AMD Projection as of September 2024, based on pre-production testing as well as modelling of competitive processors not yet in market. GNR-17.

5. Overclocking and/or Undervolting AMD processors and memory, including without limitation, altering clock frequencies / multipliers or memory timing / voltage, to operate outside of AMD’s published specifications will void any applicable AMD product warranty, even when enabled via AMD hardware and/or software. This may also void warranties offered by the system manufacturer or retailer. Users assume all risks and liabilities that may arise out of overclocking / undervolting AMD processors, including, without limitation, failure of or damage to hardware, reduced system performance and/or data loss, corruption or vulnerability. Pros: Super chill45°C idle, 55-63°C under load
Beastlyhandles heavy tasks and gaming like a champ
Silentbarely a whisper Cons: Hard to grabstock vanishes fast Overall Review: Idling at 45°Cice-cold perfection, way below my 55-65°C happy place. Havent pushed it hard yet, but this things a beast for heavy workloads, multitasking, and maxed-out gamingsmooth, powerful, and ready to dominate anything you throw at it.
This 16-core Zen 5 monster (5.7 GHz boost) with 3D V-Cache runs quiet and coolperfect for crunching tasks or crushing frames.

  2. Jorge R.

Pros: All good Cons: None Overall Review: Super solid CPU. No regret.

  3. Ron H.

Pros: Great quality product that is exceptionally easy to set up and run. I have this on an ASRock Taichi X870E motherboard and the combined performance is truly astonishing. Without any overclock other than XMP1 memory profile this CPU outperforms my Intel 14900KF in benchmarks, lower power draw and cooler running temperatures under load (using the same AIO).
The accompanying software which puts 8 of the cores to sleep during game playing does what it’s supposed to for the games I have. Cons: Most reviews list the price as a con. It is indeed expensive but the product excels. Overall Review: For me, this stands as the cream of the crop. It’s the first AMD CPU I’ve had and I’m thoroughly impressed.

  4. アイマイミーマー

Pros: Due to changes in the internal structure, the clock speed has increased because it can be cooled more than the 7950X3D, and the X3D has been installed while maintaining the same performance as the 9950X. It is the strongest CPU. Cons: Compared to the single CCD of the 9800X3D, there is inevitably increased latency between cores, which results in inferior gaming performance.
But it’s a really small difference. Overall Review: It’s a very capable CPU, but it also generates a lot of heat.
By default, PBO is enabled on Auto, but it’s easier to use with PBO disabled.

  5. Wayne P.

Pros: Works perfectly as expected. Games great, does everything else great. Perfect processor. Cons: Rus hot, you will need to have a good AIO cooler. Even with one, when gaming expect cpu temps to hit the mid 70’s C. But all the newer processors are this way with heat. Overall Review: One of, if not the best CPU on the market. I was lucky to get one on day one (Thanks NEWEGG) and it is rock solid. If you want the best, the 9950X3D is it, in my opinion.

  6. Derek J.

Pros: Destroys everything I throw at it.
Paired with a 5090 this beast is unstoppable.
16 cores 32 threads shreads all
Really good cpu. Cons: No cons so far. Overall Review: Highly recommed this cpu if it’s fits your needs.

  7. John W.

Pros: Extremely fast, works almost as well as a 9800X3D for gaming (better when the games can use all 32 threads). Doesn’t use that much more wattage than a 9800X3D when gaming. Cons: It took two RMAs to get a working 9950X3D, my first time ever getting a bad processor… and twice in a row at that. All three had the same batch number and were somewhat close (within 200 to 300?) in serial number. Overall Review: It seems AMD might be having some quality control issues with their X3D chips. Thankfully Newegg came through with painless RMAs (the only pain being having to troubleshoot two bad 9950X3Ds).
One egg removed for having to spend around 3 weeks dealing with bad AMD chips.

  8. David M.

Pros: Maintains a reliable lower temperature than its competition in i9 14900k series from Intel.
Most of the benchmarks outperform the i9 14900k but some do not. For the most part I really enjoy having the AMD Ryzen 9 flagship CPU in my system. The memory bandwidth is nearly double that of the i9 14900 with 6000MHz memory versus the Intel CPU running 7200MHz memory. Cons: The CPU during benchmarks doesn’t seem to run at the full turbo rated boost speed, but it still outperforms the i( 14900K in many of the benchmark tests. Overall Review: I’m besides myself in getting the 9950X3D versus the Intel 285K CPU. I don’t have any experience with the 285K CPU, I had ordered it and sent it back when I realized that the AI TOPS amount would not be justified in allowing local CoPilot operation on my PC, So I wanted a CPU that could beat my current configuration without being an AI CPU.
