AMD FirePro® W8000 is the high-end category leader for multitasking and application performance across up to four displays. It’s up to 4.5 times faster than the competing solution in single precision compute performance due in part to its innovative, all-new Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture. For 3D workloads, its GeometryBoost feature makes quick work of triangles, processing 1.8 billion per second – up to 1.5 times more than the competing product.
Equipped with a large 4GB GDDR5 frame buffer, the W8000 delivers up to 1.5 times more memory bandwidth than the competing solution, and with high performance computing (HPC) features like error correcting code (ECC) memory and 806 GFLOPs of double precision floating point performance, it’s a great choice for HPC workflows.

Pros: My Company bought one for a new workstation build. Ir runs plenty fast… I ran a benchmark on it and purely from a graphics rating prospective, it’s faster than a GTX 680. That means that it’s about double as expensive as gaming cards for the raw computing power you get… But this is Workstation graphics. Cons: Drivers are still being updated constantly… Nvidia has a reputation for better drivers than AMD. Overall Review: In terms of raw power, this card is great, better than the quadro 5000 (not sure about the k5000 yet). The problem you could run into is drivers and support for your application. As the drivers are optimized, the hardware will be able to utilize its full potential.. As I said before, the power in the GPU Passmark benchmark that I ran is faster than GTX 680. In actual applications it depends on what you’re doing… Also it’s hard to say where the W8000 will ultimately end up; even then though, you still have to look at your application. It’s not easy to just say buy this since there are so many variables on the driver/software end of things. As for hardware, AMD has a reputation for giving you more for your money than Nvidia.

Pros: This card is working great so far. Cons: Backside of the card gets warm. Overall Review: One of the display port adapters it came with wouldn’t work. No big deal my work had extra.

Pros: Supports 4-6 monitors. Cons: 1. There is no user manual. 2. No CD’s with drivers are included in the delivery. 3. Very difficult finding a monitor that will work with this card in 3D. After searching for many hours and calling numerous vendors, I found two that would “probably” work with the FirePro W8000, no guarantees. You have to buy the monitor and hope it works! No refunds if it does not. The monitors listed on AMD’s website as being supported are older models and in most cases discontinued. Good luck finding a monitor that will work with this card. 4. Claims to support 3D viewing, but it does not support stereo on CRT’s or any flat panel monitors running up to 120 Hz which are directly supported by the NVIDIA chipset. This is a huge negative for those in a gaming or high end CAD environment needing to implement 3D. Overall Review: If you plan to use this card for stereo 3D viewing, consider another model. The NVIDIA chipset is by far a better choice for 3D. I went and bought an ASUS high end VGA card with the NVIDIA chipset. It supports ALL of my monitors in 3D, old and new and was much, much easier to install and configure than the FirePro W8000.

Pros: I bought this as a bundle with a year subscription of adobe CC membership. It works well with Premiere Pro Cons: I bought this as a bundle with a year subscription of adobe CC membership. It is not supported by After Effects. workflow is very slow. Why would they offer this as a package deal when it will not work with all Adobe products. Overall Review: I will try to return it and get something that is supported by all adobe products. That’s the reason I wanted a high end graphics card.
