  1. Robert H.

Pros: what to say? it works… price was reasonable, its 3690 joule rating is very good…
also came with a bunch of cables. Cons: extra cables were a bit cheap, but then again, I didn’t even know they came with it.. Overall Review: once again, plugged everything in, and it all works…
DON’T USE A CHEAP SURGE PROTECTOR!!!
    This one is good.

Pros: Umm… looks prettier than some other surge protectors.
    10 foot cable. 3690 joules!!!
Has protection for cable/phone/data jacks. I haven’t tested any of them, though, so I don’t know if it’ll reduce the quality of the signal or not.
I only use the power outlets, and I’m really happy with the way they are placed on the unit. One side has 3 widely spaced outlets for big power blocks, and the other side has 5 outlets for regular plugs.
Also, each outlet has a cover which slides close to prevent dust from building up inside the ones you’re not using. Cons: One thing I noticed right off the bat when I was looking at pictures of this thing is that the on/off switch looks like it can be toggled really easily. My fears were confirmed when the unit arrived. I hope I don’t accidentally kick this thing around.
Other than that, the cable/phone/data jacks are also lined up in a row between the outlets, which look really cool, by the way, and since I don’t use them, they’re really just there for my viewing pleasure 😀
However, to be honest, if I were using the cable/phone/data jacks, I would’ve preferred if they were on the side somewhere away from all the power outlets. I’m already cringing at the thought of the wire-mess it will cause if I really made use of those jacks.
Finally, if you haven’t already noticed, the price is on the expensive side for this thing. I could have gotten 5 units of a cheaper model/brand with the same number of outlets per unit, but honestly, if you want surge protection, you shouldn’t skimp on your equipment. Overall Review: This thing is much smaller and lighter than what I originally expected. Also, the material feels like a kid’s toy. Let’s just say I was expecting a lot more metal on this thing. But like I said, this isn’t really a con for me.
I haven’t had any power surges yet, so I can’t really vouch for how well this unit will function when the time comes.
So, if you just need more outlets, don’t get this surge protector, especially if the devices you’re going to hook up to it don’t draw that much power anyway. You can get a power strip with more outlets for much cheaper compared to this thing.

  3. Michael G.

Pros: It’s the second to the best surge protection from Tripp Lite, and priced considerably lower than the top model. I’m confident about the brand as I’ve seen their products in action. Cons: None. Overall Review: Beware that unless you’re intimate with your dwelling the wiring may be non-standard and improperly grounded–in which case the warranty does not apply. Lastly, the company has very informative customer support.

  4. PAMELA K.

Pros: Tripp_lite rules, if you’re not impressed by the product description at NewEgg go over to Tripp-Lite website to read the nitty gritty on this surge suppressor. It protects the outlet, coaxial, telephone AND Ethernet cables which I desperately needed for our FiOs service !! Lightening blew out our first Verizon Router and Tripp_lite is now saving us from ever experiencing that again. This should be a standard installation product to Fios service. Cons: Absolutely none! Overall Review: Verizon should be informing customers to install these with all FiOs customers!

Pros: the red light is still.. all sockets still full & runs without power loss. Cons: none what so ever Overall Review: we have bad storm here from time to time. plus living in a old house doesnt help also. this is helping me protect $1,300.00 of stuff. this is a must but if you dont want lighting or power surge messing up your gear.

  6. James P.

Pros: I recently invested in my dream machine, a huge splurge to enjoy my work and gaming with. Like a well-oiled sports car, I want to make sure my rig stays in top shape.
I chose this protection solution because Tripp Lite is a trustworthy name in the industry. The rating of joules protection is pretty much the highest I could find on Newegg, and there is a 250,000 USD insurance policy for any connected hardware.
It comes with plenty of connections, even for ethernet, and it even looks good (I have it mounted on my wall). Cons: I think two in/out ethernet connection ports would have been nice, since a lot of high end motherboards these days support dual LAN connection, but that’s not much of a con to me. Overall Review: If you are going to invest hundreds, or even thousands of dollars into a computer/home entertainment system/etc… do yourself a favor and DO NOT skimp on your surge protection.

  7. Andrew G.

Pros: Price for this product with the features offered were a great deal in my opinion. I was mainly looking for protection after my old surge protector did not do its job, and wanted to make sure my newly built PC was safe. warranty, wall plug, 10ft cord, and the “I am being protected lights” a plus. Cons: Only con so far is the Ethernet ports and I did dock an egg for this as it is a major feature of the product for protecting a computer. They are a little too close together and I had to actually shave down one side of a cat 5 cable so they would both fit. Hopefully after feed back they will begin to fix this on future models. Overall Review: Price vs protection I think this is a solid buy and would recommend this to my friends.

  8. Cory B.

Pros: The build quality is great with this surge suppressor, the reset switch is solid and the sliding outlet covers don’t get stuck. The 10′ cord is excellent.
The telephone line protector works as intended. A fax machine plugged into this unit has no issues. Cons: None Overall Review: The 10′ cord is thick.
This unit includes a telephone cable, network cable and coax cable. A nice touch.
