Just use your imagination and purchase the hardware needed to obtain your goal
I would not be afraid to sit something very heavy on it

-great paint/finish Cons: -none Overall Review: This is the perfect size, between my 1U Server (Asus RS100), 1U switch and this shelf, it uses as much space as a typical ATX home server. I have a 4 space rack that can be mounted vertical or horizontal. I have it mounted vertical so my setup takes up a smaller footprint. Because of that, I had to get creative with mounting my modem, router, OBi, HDD enclosure and various other items but the venting holes made it possible. In order to do this I used velcro for some smaller items like the OBi but the heavier items I used screws & small washers. I just replaced existing screws with longer ones. This has cleaned my office up, I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while.
This shelf has no sharp edges/it’s not flimsy. A lot of the shelves I compared this to lacked venting holes on the side, depending on if you’ll be mounting items in it vs just setting them in, keep that in mind. For my purpose, the holes on the sides were beneficial.

Rugged Paint job Cons: None at all Overall Review: Cant go wrong with this shelf. It has almost no flex to speak of when in hand and zero flex when mounted. The Paint has a nice matte black finish and is very rugged. This finish feels like it should stand up to a good amount of abuse and resist chipping. Included mounting hardware is also painted black.
In all honesty, you will be hard pressed to find a flaw with this shelf. The thickness of the steel used is going to hold up against permanent deformation in any real world use case, in fact I would bet the shearing strength of the mounting hardware would fail well before the actual shelf would deform.
