Overall Review: The B850 doesnt differ much from the B650, but this motherboard has still received many optimizations compared to the previous generation. It features a more refined and aesthetically pleasing design, and the BIOS has been completely revamped. The most noticeable improvement is the smoother boot experience.

Overall Review: The design elements of this motherboard are very similar to the Z890P, but thats not a bad thing. Intel motherboards always have more robust specifications, and applying successful elements to AMD models is great. This motherboard features large heatsinks, and its BIOS is both user-friendly and visually appealing. Thumbs up!

Pros: DDR5 up to 8200 , Wifi 7 and lightining Gen 5 are the top three benefits of this board. It also has Forzr AI cooling which monitors temperatures changes Overall Review: Paired with AMD Ryzen™ 5 8600G and 32GB G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB , overall very happy with this purchase. The board has so many connectivity options at the back and it makes it so convenient. Another thing I like about this board is that, the ssd installation is very effortless.

Pros: It is a motherboard and should do what it is supposed to do. Cons: usb 3.0 and 2.0 headers Overall Review: The board seems great but I had issues when i plugged in my usb3.0 and usb 2.0 cables to this motherboard. Usb2.0 ports on the front of my case were unable to detect anything at all and the usb 3.0 ports on the front of my case killed 2 usb sticks and caused a 3rd usb stick to ejecting every minute or so. Also the lan internet seems a bit slower than my old GA-AB350 Gaming 3.
The front usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports worked fine on my last motherboard and are now working fine with the b850 tomahawk as I am returning the b850 gaming plus wifi.

Pros: Arrived undamaged. Cons: – Tons of USB interference. Only the USB 2.0 ports put out a clean signal. Every other USB port has random disconnects and cannot be used with wireless headphones. I was getting a ton of digital audio corruption. This was already a deal breaker but theres more.
– Only the top M.2 slot works as intended. The bottom 3 make the drive show up as removable in Windows. Normally, this can be fixed by turning off hot swap, but MSI has removed this setting in their bios.
– Disabling your audio in bios does absolutely nothing, windows still tried to install drivers for it. Ive never seen that before. Overall Review: I replaced this board with a competitors, and magically every issue went away. Maybe I got a lemon, its possible. But its more likely this model has some serious issues. Be careful with your purchase. MSI also had Newegg delete my previous review which is extremely concerning.

Pros: The B850 Motherboard is a very good motherboard for the price. Works well in my Montech X3 mesh case. Very nice colouring, silver goes very well with the black. I would recommend this product to anyone. The only thing bad is not the boards fault but the msi logo on the board is covered by the exhaust fan I have.

Overall Review: I had a problem with only one stick being detected by my board(troubleshot different RAM). While removing the CPU to reseat it to test if that was the problem from troubleshooting, I accidentally bent some pins. My screw up, so I reached out to their support to send it in for the repair, where over two weeks they gave vague answers and wouldn’t provide any real number or even an estimate. Looking at paying anywhere from 65 for base plus shipping to 70% of “Retail”, they wouldn’t give me an average so I could be looking at spending same amount on a new board. They also wouldn’t even consider a discount since I’d spent over 1500 on a MSI 5080 and MSI power supply as well. They went ahead and closed my ticket after I had requested to speak with a manager or supervisor as well.
If you want a take a chance with them if everything is working do so, I wish I wasn’t past my return time on their other products to send them back as I don’t want to support their company anymore after this.
