Cons: Unfortunately, the Asus B860M mother board I bought is defective. After receiving it and collecting all the pieces to complete the build, (DDR5, cooling fan, CPU, etc.), then assembling everything I couldn’t get any visual output or enter the BIOS. Also unfortunately Newegg says its too late to return it. Overall Review: I can’t recommend this item due to its failure.

Pros: – Clean layout makes for an easy build, very DIY friendly
– ASUS quality
– More audio ports on the back I/O panel than most
– Up to 3 video ports, with Thunderbolt/DisplayPort adapter
– All the features most of us will ever need Cons: – Armoury Crate utility app is not as useful as previous ASUS motherboard utility apps
– Limited overclocking support, as is the case for all B860 motherboards. Overall Review: Great motherboard for a compact, micro-ATX build. This motherboard has all the features most people will ever need. The layout is great and makes for a no-fuss build. The board appears to be solid quality, as one would expect from Asus. What makes this board stand out from the pack is the audio; it has dedicated audio layers on the board with high quality components and enough audio ports on the back I/O panel for a 7.1 channel speaker system (my 5.1 channel speaker system is working great with it.) Keep in mind that, as with all motherboards based on the B860 chipset, it does not support CPU overclocking, even if you have an unlocked processor. One thing that could be improved is the software utilities. ASUS DriverHub makes software updates easier than ever, but Armoury Crate utility app could use more functionality, a better UI and be easier to use. I liked the utilities included with my old Asus Z270 motherboard better.
Tips – The included antenna is for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Bluetooth will not work properly without the antenna attached.
This was the first build I have done in a few years. The printed manual included with the motherboard is very limited compared to what used to be included with motherboards. If you don’t have a lot of experience building computers, you may want to download the full manual from the ASUS support website before you begin.

Pros: Great stuff. Make sure to go into the Realtek audio settings and turn the amp setting up if you have high impedance headphones like me. Was initially disappointed the volume level was so low, and found out they have different amp settings in the app. Overall Review: Great

Pros: Not many. Wifi connectors are easy to plug in. Cons: Super flaky motherboard, locks up constantly.
Installed 2 different CPU’s, 2 different HSF, and 2 different sets of memory trying to get this stable.
When I put the computer on any sort of load it hard locks.
Support is pretty much non existent, unless you have a few hours trying to get past their AI chatbot to speak to someone. Then they just blame it on everything else (hence the parts canon that I shot at it) just to string you along past the return date.
26 days into this nightmare and Newegg won’t take it back, so I am pretty sure I am going to be stuck with this paperweight.
Not sure if I am going to be giving any of these companies my business any longer. Overall Review: What happened to Asus?
When Asrock makes a better product you are doing something wrong.

Pros: Just what I am looking for in a motherboard that can be used in the future Cons: none Overall Review: Looking forward to getting everything put together and trying it out.

Pros: Wifi 7 is cool I guess Cons: I am on my second board that have had identical issues. Initial set up was fine, no wifi drivers installed no problem got set up hard wire then downloaded all the updated drivers. Apparently this is common these days. I haven’t built a system in over 15 years so that was a challenge initially.
Fast forward about 3 weeks after a normal windows update and reboot the system won’t pass POST/BOOT. Actually at first it wouldn’t pass VGA check (had to find the LED error cords online because they aren’t in the manual provided. Unplugging and replugging the HDMI randomly got VGA to work then the BOOT failures started. System just hangs just before, or at, BIOS startup. Won’t actually enter BIOS.
I tried everything, the long hold power, disconnecting/reconnecting everything, update rollback, every forum post I could find I tried. Eventually resetting/flashing the CMOS got me back into the system but now I don’t have wifi, only LAN. Redownload drivers, nothing. Again every trick in the book would not enable the wifi controller. It was there in Device Manager but just wouldn’t turn on. Trying to un/reinstall didn’t work then I didn’t even have the adapter to attempt to initialize. Spent over an hour on the phone with ASUS Support who were great but did not solve the problem. I’m on week 3 of “Level 2” support and theyre still “researching my issue”. I demanded an RMA and will get Board number 3 in a week or two. Because of course all this went on longer than the Return Policy allows.
During all of this I bought a second board because I have a business to run. I’m now experiencing the beginnings of the same sequence of errors I did before.
I’m currently waiting on Board 3 as RMA replacement for Board 1. There’s no way I can recommend this board to anyone. ASUS needs to dig into the design of this thing something is wrong. Overall Review: DO NOT recommend.
WOULD NOT buy again.
