ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Graphics Card DUAL-RTX3060-O12G-V2

Pros: – Delivers respectable framerates when partnered with an appropriate CPU and RAM.
– Excessive 12GB of VRAM gives some bragging rights.
– Over engineered triple fan cooling solution keeps it quite cool.
– The card is hunky and is of high build quality.
– Looks great through a case side window. Solid gamer oriented styling.
– Allows the usage of ray tracing at an entry level MSRP. If you can get it at that price is another question.
– “Fixed” my system by replacing a 5700XT that would often black screen and crash my rig. Cons: I did have to buy a motherboard I didn’t really want as part of the Newegg Shuffle. That is of no fault to this RTX 3060, and better reflects the current and unfortunate state of the market. A small price to pay. Overall Review: I was absolutely blessed with the opportunity to buy this at its MSRP during a Newegg Shuffle, after entering the event frequently for over six months. I actually would have liked a single fan version of the RTX 3060, as a triple fan version is a bit overkill for the GPU on this card, but you don’t say no to the opportunity to buy a video card these days, and the TUF Gaming model looks great.
I partnered it with an ageing, but still solid Ryzen 7 2700X and 32GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, and it delivers excellent framerates at 1440p on most video games. So far I’ve played games like Diablo 2: Resurrected, Cyberpunk 2077, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Battlefield 5 with satisfactory experiences. If you have something similar like a Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i7-8700K, you can expect this card to shine.
I have an ASUS ROG Strix motherboard and matching it up with an ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3060 graphics card definitely felt right. The small amount of RGB on the card looks neat too. While the ASUS TUF Gaming series is a quality product line up, ROG and ROG Strix are generally higher on totem pole at ASUS. I’m sure its mostly just brand / product segmentation, but just something to think about for your build.
If you get the chance to buy the card at its MSRP, just do it, because you might not have another chance for six months.

the cooling is an absolute beast. on max fans it never goes above 130F°
the fans are quite on auto mode. Cons: you cant change the rgb strip on it but its so subtle you dont really notice it. Overall Review: overall this card is an absolute 5.0 for your money. i had pretty low expectations based on user reviews but i gotta say for myself this thing is a really great card.

Runs VR games smooth n clearly Cons: I noticed that if left idle on a cutscene for too long, the graphics act as if it’s been minimized or running at a lower rate, but I think that also might be due to my own computer’s idle settings. Overall Review: One of my favorite comparisons I like to make when going from my GTX 1050 TI to this one is how it handled Oculus’ Lone Echo game. It went from having to stop to let the game load frequently on my old rig and having semi fuzzy peripheral vision when it came to my character’s hands and body, to immediately having it run so much smoother and being able to actually see the individual joints and servos running within the character’s robotic hands, as well as see much farther a distance with more finer details.
One of the things I got paranoid about was the temperatures but according to my monitoring, even under high stress running VR games as well as watching multiple screens of videos and such, it stays cool and well regulated. Even though it doesn’t have a lot of fancy lights on it, the accent light does add a nice glow to my case.
I’m not invested in any of these mining activities I’m just a simple gamer that likes to enjoy games. I hope that if you manage to get your hands on this card, that it enhances your experiences and that it will run for you for a long period of time.
