Pros: Works exactly as desired.
Arrived quickly despite coming from the other coast.
Is exactly as described (even if I didn’t pay attention to the description). Cons: There is a problem when inserting the Battery Module causing misalignment.
The front bezel is missing the Brand/Model sticker.
None of the accessories that the UPS is sold with were included.
Load LED’s don’t work. Overall Review: The Battery Module inserts just fine until the last 1/4″ where it wedges sideways to the left. That makes it difficult to get the screws to start without cross-threading them, and removing the Battery Module becomes a HUGE hassle. It requires using a pry bar to force the battery to the right while pulling on the tiny lip of sheet metal provided as a grip. Given the weight of the battery and the additional force from prying, pulling it out is daunting.
It’s a shame that it doesn’t have the Branding sticker on the front bezel as that underscores the second hand nature of the equipment, but I wouldn’t hold back on giving it 5 eggs just for this.
I’m highly disappointed that I had to spend additional $ buying mounting rails and a communications cable that are both included when purchasing this model new. Almost everything I own is refurbished merchandise and ALL of it has been sold with everything a new model comes with. This seems like it should have been listed as “Refurbished – Open Box” or “Refurbished – As-Is”.
Finally, I had to edit and add this: The LED’s that indicate the service load don’t work at all. Since I bought a communications cable (that is should have come with) I’ll be able to see that in software, but the front panel should have been tested before calling it ‘Rebuilt’ and reselling it.
My side of the equation comes down to not reading the specs and noticing the power plug is a NEMA L5-30 Twist Lock. I had to have an elec-chicken put in a new circuit and outlet so I could use it. LOL Using commercial equipment for my home network – First-World problems, right?
I’ve edited my original review and dropped it to 3 eggs. I removed 1 1/2 eggs for the missing accessories and module fitment and an additional 1/2 for the front panel not being fully working.
If you have everything you need to mount and power it, chances are real good you won’t have the issues I’m having with the battery module. In that case I would highly recommend this! It’s in reasonable condition and works fine. At least during my testing… I expect to have it’s outlet installed in my equipment closet today.
