Pros: Short rails. Seem sturdy. Cons: Don’t come with square to round adapter. Overall Review: If you have a round hole rack you will need to buy the adapters. Part number MCP-290-00060-0N

Pros: Solid rails, quick attach, sweet. Cons: SuperMicro’s site details this as the only compatible rail set on some of their chassis, however the short rack version will not fit a lot of standard 19″ racks, you want this item: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0S9-00S2-00005
I have no clue why SuperMicro’s site does not detail these other rails as compatible.

Pros: They work great on MOST supermicro chassis Cons: Simply don’t fit older SC-846 chassis… I have 3 of these in my rack, adding a 4th and these rails are too narrow to fit onto the tabs even though their support site says these are the correct rails.
I’ve since learned that there are two versions. Up until now, I was a major fan of supermicro… that’s changed. Why modify rail mounting and not maintain backward compatibilty !?!?!?!
I’ve since learned that there is a wider version of these, which are price-gouged: MCP-290-00001-00. Tried ordering them from three suppliers to find out they’re back-ordered. However, those charging > $150.00 seem to have plenty available. Can’t even get them via supermicro e-store.
