Pros: — Very fast and haven’t had any issues with using the drives.
— Management software works well and make sure you install it. Cons: — These come with a known issue (at this time, Feb 2023) that the firmware needs to be immediately updated. If you do that, you don’t seem to have any of the health degradation that has been reported. Overall Review: I would definitely recommend and I would also recommend immediately downloading the Samsung Magician management software to get the firmware updated and kept up to date.

Overall Review: Received mine April 12, 2023 and it came with the latest (1B2QJXD7) firmware at the time of this writing. This firmware version addresses the rapid health degradation experienced with previous firmware versions.

Pros: This drive provided a BIG performance boost compared to the M.2 NVME 970Pro.
I Choose to use the Samsung Magician to update the firmware and boost the Performance right from the start after hearing what some people ran into, so I did not fall into the unlucky pool of unhappy people. Cons: None Overall Review: I would highly recommend this product.

Fast Cons: Will eat itself unless you do a firmware update. Known problem with drive health rapidly deteriorating unless firmware is updated using Magician. Do it as soon as the drive is installed. Overall Review: I would recommend this drive with a warning that you should think twice before using for mission critical applications. Perfect for home use, gaming, ultimate builds.

Pros: I installed this via a PCIEx16 card adaptor as both the m.2 slots are taken w 1TB drives. Did a disk image and then replaced the two 1Tb with this drive as the primary windows drive. Screaming fast. Heat seems to not be an issue Overall Review: Great price. Very fast operations!

It stays cool with MB radiator even after heavy load, up to 52-53C.
One-sided SSD that fits perfectly not only in desktop MBs, but in laptops.
Just simply the best SSD for fast storage and installation with corresponding fast bootable SSD.

Overall Review: The 990 pro does not ship with the latest firmware which fixes the drive life degration issue.
Make sure that when you put it in your system that you install the Samsung software right away and flash a new firmware, immediately!!!!
Very irresponsible of Samsung or Newegg to be selling these with a bad firmware on it. Most people won’t know there is an issue at all until 10 hours into file transferring and they notice 10% of their drives life is gone.
Otherwise the drive is very nice, low temps, fast speed, and is worth it on sale.
