Premessa.

Love ittttt it’s Great and the gifs are hilarious. Only one problem i have is that you can only upload one gif every time l. But Great keyboard nonetheless

Good keyboard, with nice click sounds and fun to type! The build is sturdy and the keyboard is heavy. I am expecting it to last long. I liked the small screen for configuration. There is a time display on the keyboard, which I don’t find useful.
Once charge last about two weeks with bluetooth connectivity.

Let me start by saying I am not a gamer and I didn’t buy this for the gaming features. That will become evident as you read on!
I had my last Logitech keyboard for 5 years and if it was not for the fading keys and subsequent attempts to put stickers over them which all eventually got icky (technical term) and loose for the 2nd time, I would not have bought another keyboard.
After much research the first replacement I bought (another manufacturer) came assembled but not quite because you had to change some keys if you were on Windows. After having confirmed it would come assembled, that unnerved me. Never changed a key and didn’t want to break the keyboard from the get go. Had to use a magnifier for the directions. Nice board, nice colors, nice feel but not going to work out. So I returned it.
Then I decided on this Royal Kludge RK-S98 keyboard. I hesitated because of too much white in the coloring but I was super happy to unbox it, plug the dongle into my computer, it paired right away and I could start typing immediately. I did have to refer to the instructions which I could read without a magnifier to set the clock and turn off the irritating color lights (I know gamers have to be rolling their eyes now if they kept reading my review this far lol ) but other than that everything is self explanatory. It is “missing” a few keys from my old keyboard like “end” but you do function PgDn key and you are at the end. And the front side of the key even says “End” so if you don’t remember, it’s right there.
By the way, the colors really are beautiful if you want a backlit light show and you can adjust them easily. I found this out while finding out how to turn them off completely.
The keys are double shot PBT which is supposed to be very effective preventing the letters and numbers from wearing off. Since that was my biggest issue with the Logitech, it was a very important factor in purchasing this one.
The sound is nice. It is clicky but not obnoxious. It’s easy and a nice sound and there is a Caps Lock Lit indicator which I have missed sorely since I got my last keyboard. But if you want to turn off those lights too you can.
I almost forgot to add that there is a hard plastic clear dust cover. I’ve never seen that before and I do plan to use it.
I wish I understood how to get a gif on the screen instead of the clock since my clock is already on my monitor but maybe someday I will play with it.
Overall, I am super happy with this. I’ll edit my review if things go south but I’m pretty sure this keyboard is home to stay.

I have been trying to be cheap all these years buying the knock off mechanical keyboards, but then I saw this and decided to splurge a little bit since someone gave me a gift card to help cut down some of the cost.
Honestly…I am floored by this keyboard and feel like I should have paid full price long ago to get this!!
The sound of the typing of each key….omg….pure heaven. As I type on this, I am loving each click as it goes. The videos people have here give you a little bit of an idea but still don’t do it justice. You need to see and feel and hear it in person.
The color is awesome. I went for the blueish colored keyboard and absolutely loving it and how it looks with the lights off. Speaking of lights, the lights on this keyboard are awesome. Now, keep in mind that the lights will not light up each key so you can see better in the dark. But the lights are more for showing off and having a little light show on your desk. And there are so many customization options to choose from for the light shows. If I remember correctly, there are 12 to pick from on the keyboard itself but there are so many customizations with different lights to pick from, either one color or using all colors of the rainbow to light up. Not to mention you can control the speed and the brightness of it, which is a bonus. I really particularly like the ones where each key lights up as you type. It is so cool.
The gif feature is so AWESOME! Find any gif you want online (try Giphy for a wide selection to choose from) and nearly any of them can work here. I didn’t see the instructions include it, but you will need a program on your computer (only for Windows, don’t think it’s available for Linux or macOS) called RK Keyboard and that program not only lets you change the gif but also change colors, update the software, and update the firmware of the keyboard all in the one suite. The program will let you crop the gif any way you’d like to ensure it will fit on the keyboard as you’d like it. Another thing I like about the gif option (as well as other settings of the keyboard) is that it stays with the keyboard even if you switch to another computer. So for those of you sad you can’t get RK Keyboard on your Mac or Linux computer, you can load that up on a Windows computer and make your settings and then move it over to your other computer and the settings stay!
I am loving the choice of options when it comes to the connectivity of this keyboard. Being able to connect directly over USB type C is great. The cable they give you in the box is also great because it can connect to your computer over USB type C or USB type A using an adapter that is on the cable itself. Not only that, if you happen to lose or damage this cable, I can confirm that any other USB type C cable that charges and syncs will work with this keyboard! Also, I didn’t know this until I got the keyboard, but this also has its own USB type A port so you can have another device plugged into your keyboard that will go to your computer! Great for if you have a wired mouse and want to easily have the two on your desk or if you want to hook up your phone on the fly or a gamepad…I loved that option tonight because it meant I could charge my phone and gamepad and never had to kneel down to get to my computer that was on the floor.
Also, it’s great having the option for Bluetooth and 2.4 wireless instead of being wired all the time. They handled this so well because you can have 3 profiles for 3 different Bluetooth devices and easily change between them using the dial knob so you don’t have to go and forget devices and resync and all that. And the 2.4 option….thank you, RK. They actually made a slot for this so you won’t easily lose it. It magnetizes the USB type A dongle into the keyboard so you will be less likely to lose it.
And I love the screen. Having the ability to have two different places, one as a light up by the ESC key and another in the digital window is so awesome so I can see when Caps lock has been enabled. The volume knob is so satisfying to use too. My only complaint there is that it can’t read your computer’s volume, so, like on startup, if the computer’s volume is set to 100 and you go to turn down the volume using the keyboard dial, the dial starts at 0. So you’ll still need to see the volume on the computer screen to know where it is at unless you want to go to the hassle of always moving it way up on startup.
Another great thing about the wireless options is that this keyboard automatically turns itself off when not in use to preserve battery. Also, the battery is charged by the USB type C port, which is a huge plus.
The material feels very nice. The keys feel nice to type along and so smooth. Though, I expect this to go away with more use as time goes on, as is usual with keys. So far it’s been holding up well over about 3 weeks of usage and even carrying it with me with no case.
All in all…I love this keyboard and highly recommend it.

I recently purchased this keyboard, and I am thoroughly impressed. It arrived on time, exactly as expected, and met all my expectations. The build quality is excellent, with responsive keys that offer a comfortable typing experience. Additionally, the setup process was straightforward, making it easy to start using right away.
