I’ve been following the Nintendo Switch hype since the very first model, and owning the OLED version feels like a dream come true. From the moment I unboxed it, the display grabbed me—games look crisp and vibrant, with colors that really pop. The slimmer bezels give it a premium feel in your hands, and the improved kickstand is rock-solid compared to the original’s wobbly one. The built-in speakers are better than I expected, too—clear and loud enough for handheld play

Out of the box, the 64 GB of internal storage feels modest, but adding a microSD card was painless. Now I can keep every title I want downloaded without juggling files. Digital purchases are super convenient (physical cartridge prices do vary by region, so going digital might be the smarter choice)

My unit arrived faster than expected, but it wasn’t the UAE model I ordered—it was the HKG (Hong Kong) version. The box had no factory-seal tab, a bit of dust inside, and extra packing material, so it looked like someone had opened it before. Still, everything was intact, perfectly wrapped, and the console works flawlessly

All in all, the Switch OLED is a stellar upgrade and worth every penny. Just double-check your seller’s region and inspect the packaging when it arrives to avoid any surprises—then you’ll be diving into brilliant, portable gaming in no time. Five stars!

Amazing how big the gap is between the OLED and the original. Games run smoother, the bigger screen makes for a better gameplay when using the handheld. Everything just pops on the tv as well

Cons:
Not advertised as a Japanese edition switch, the online code will not work and the box came slightly damaged. Luckily I did my research so didn’t panic when I received a JP edition.
For a collector, someone that cares about presentation (as a gift) damaged packaging could be a deal breaker.
It came in a thin layer of bubble wrap, and a regular mailing bag. So I was concerned for the protection of it, especially considering that the switch is directly on top when you open the Nintendo box.

Pros: Japanese Edition works just the same. They are not region locked, nor are the games. There is no issue with HDMI and charger, they plugged in just fine. It came with everything in the box, HDMI cord, C charger, Dock, switch, joycons, controller and two wrist straps.

Keep in mind, with a Japanese switch, certain warranties may not be covered. I’ve been able to download games, complete initial setup, connect to Internet, etc just fine. Runs smoothly and set up was great even without directions. It walks you through the whole thing. Overall it’s a great device and I’d give it 5 stars but the seller, packaging, handling and advertisement is 2 or 3 stars.

Additionally, if you decide you don’t mind getting a Japanese edition, find one cheaper as they usually cost about $40 less. There is a misconception that a Japanese edition is a fake, it’s not. It’s just bought from Japan so will have Japanese writing and directions but still do your research.
